Artist: Drake

Composer: Drake, Noah “40” Shebib, Boi-1da, Kanye West

Drake’s So Far Gone was the moment he went from Toronto’s best-kept secret to the name on everyone’s lips. Released in 2009, this mixtape captures Drake’s smooth, introspective style that blends hip-hop and R&B in a way that felt fresh and hypnotic. Tracks like “Best I Ever Had” and “Successful” (featuring Trey Songz and Lil Wayne) had everybody hooked, with lyrics that were equal parts raw, honest, and ambitious. Drake’s collaboration with producer Noah “40” Shebib brought a new sound with atmospheric beats and moody vibes that paved the way for his career. So Far Gone felt like late nights and city lights, bringing out emotions with every track and making fans feel like Drake was their new best friend. This mixtape turned him into an icon and made hip-hop and R&B boundaries practically disappear.

  1. John Davids

Drake’s So Far Gone on vinyl is an absolute gem for any hip-hop or music lover. The smooth production and introspective lyrics sound even better on vinyl, giving it a rich, warm quality that digital just can’t match. The mixtape that launched Drake into stardom is full of hits, and hearing tracks like “Successful” and “Best I Ever Had” with that vinyl crackle just feels special. The pressing is high quality, and the cover art is a nice nostalgic touch. A great addition to any collection! Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s a fan of classic Drake or vinyl collectors.

  2. Megan Lawson

Drake’s So Far Gone is a classic, and the vinyl format does a great job of bringing that smooth, introspective vibe to life. Tracks like “Best I Ever Had” and “Successful” sound excellent with the warmth of vinyl, but a couple of the songs don’t seem to benefit much from the format change. While the pressing is decent, there were some minor issues with sound quality here and there. Still, for any Drake fan, this is a great nostalgic piece, and it’s a solid way to experience the mixtape that put him on the map.
